Michael William Wessling Sr., 58, of Mesquite went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his residence. Memorial services celebrating Michael’s life will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday April 8, 2017 at Grace Revolution Church, 3000 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062, with Pastor Brian Risinger officiating. Dinner for family and friends will immediately follow at 2237 Round Rock Drive, Carrollton, TX 75007. Private interment will take place at DFW National Cemetery with Military Honors.

 

Michael was born on February 23, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. He is the son of the late Col. Richard B. Wessling Jr. and Janice Roper Wessling. As a member of a military family he lived in and around many throughout his youth but mostly in the El Paso area. He honorably served his Country as a member of the United States Air Force for over 7 years. Michael married Debra Lynn Roncone on April 27, 1985 in Sacramento, California. They lived in Guam before settling in Texas. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in avionics and worked as an electrician and avionics technician in El Paso. He is also preceded in death by his son Michael William Wessling Jr. He was a gifted poet and had many books published and earned several awards for his poetry. He was talented in building things with his hands and made furniture and rebuilt computers.

 

He is loved and will be missed by his wife Debra; daughters Jacquelyn Burkholder and husband Brad of Grove City, Ohio, Amber Sparks and husband Jason of Hilliard, Ohio; son Ron Wessling of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren Desiree, Patrick, Bianca, Maria, Gracie, Sophia, Journie and Johnathan; brother David Wessling and wife Kim of Washington; sister Lynelle Harvey and husband Jeff of Carrollton, Texas; mother-in-law Jaqueline Ronconi of Sarasota, Florida; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.
