There are so many memories I have of my Grandfather, I called him "Grandaddy", but in each of them the most prominent thing I remember is his laugh and his smile. I am thankful for the things he passed on to us and for the long life the Lord blessed him with to share with us.

During the early years of the DCCCD, Lou was my mentor in the preparation and evaluation of my bid proposals. Over the years, through Lou's guidance, it was comforting to know that in Purchasing we always did things the "right way." Memories of a good friend.

Sympathies to the family of Lou. Worked with him at the DCCCD for several years. He was truly an outstanding individual. I have wonderful memories of working with Lou and Walter Pike for several years. God Bless!

Lou was famous within the DCCCD for having pulled off a number of miracles in getting the new colleges opened. One example was the opening of Mountain View college, even though the buildings were not yet completed. Lou ordered several circus sized tents to be erected on the site to accept students and to help with the registration! He was not daunted by the impossible! He was completely trusted by the Vice Chancellor of Business, Dr. Walter Pike, to maintain the integrity of the purchasing processes. He never lost a battle in the board meetings when vendors would contest how a bid was awarded because Lou always won the event 195 to 0. NO CONTEST. He was great at his job and was highly respected among the staff members of the colleges and the District Offices.

Mr. Schoffstoll was my first supervisor at DCCCD. He was a very special person and it was a privilege to have known him and worked for him. Condolences to his family.
