Ira Floyd Stewart

Ira Floyd Stewart, 88, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at his home in Quinlan, Texas. He was born on July 2, 1928 in Liberal, Kansas to Garrabell and Everett Stewart. He grew up in Burlington, Colorado on the family farm. In his early 20’s he moved to Dallas, Texas where he learned and mastered the excavation and heavy equipment business. He took great pride in his work and he continued in this field until he retired. Ira married the love of his life, Diane, in 1974. They were happily married for 44 years. Ira was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to Colorado and even yard work at home. He was a devout family man and always put his family first. He is preceded in death by his parents Garibbell and Everett Stewart, his brother Laverne, and his daughter Sue.

He is loved and will be deeply missed by wife Diane Stewart; son Jimmy Stewart and wife Linda of Lone Oak; grandchildren Jimmy Stewart Jr., Scotty Stewart, Latasha, Tammy Weber; great-grandchildren Jennifer, Justine, Johanna, Jadenlynn, JC, James, Joshia, Trey, Cody, Nikki, Bryanna and Josh; brothers Bill Stewart and wife Sue of Beana Vista, Colorado, Jerome Warner and wife Linda of Magnolia, Arkansas and Frank Stewart and wife Paula of Tallina, Oklahoma; numerous extended family and friends

Ira had a warm heart, loving nature and amazing smile and sense of humor. He was loved and respected by everyone who got to know him.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 117 Wooded Creek Drive, Red Oak, Texas 75154
