My grandfather was a wonderful man. To me he was a combination of John Wayne, Johnny Cash, James Dean, and Elvis Presley. I spent all my summers and weekends for half my life at the Ranch in Blooming Grove, where he would always take me along to ride my favorite horse, Babe. I remember watching him do his hair in the mornings and he would tell me stories about his childhood or tell me jokes. I always loved his take on life, he was such a wise man. I will always cherish the time that I spent with him. He will always be in my heart. I love you Papí, Rest In Peace.

My dad, a man who lived life on his own terms. He was tough when he had to be, and the kindest most considerate person I have ever know. He could not see a person in need without taking action. He would give without expecting or wanting anything in return. Money was to be used to help others and enjoyed, not to be saved while others where in need.
He led by example in many areas such as honest, a strong work ethic, and giving God thanks for all of his blessings, no matter how small. He loved his parents so much. I don't know how many sons look forward to spending time with their parents like my dad did. He shared the love of animals with his father. They would love to go to the Weatherford Flea Market together especially to buy goats. I can still see them bringing the truck filled with goats!

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my cousin Gil Garcia. I have very fond memories of him and the time he brought his family down to live in Millett. His father, Tio Nando would always come by to visit his sister, my mom, Maria Garcia. I can still hear his voice calling my mother's name in that special vouce. Gil reminded me of him. He loved horses and would often compete in horse races with my brother Jose aka as "El Chueco". I spoke with Jose and told him of Gil's passing and he wanted to attend but respected his wishes. On behalf of the Torres family our most sincere condolences to all of his family on the loss of their father and a great nephew to my mom and cousin to us. So glad I was able to reminisce with him at Nandito's house when Lolo passed. Rest in peace Gil.

Ana, thank you for your thoughtful message. It brought a smile during this diffficult time. It's great remembering how much he loved animals and especially horses. Iche, Dande and Kike have fond memories of you, your sister Lucy and of course our grandfather's sister, Tia Maria. I'm so grateful that your were able to see my dad when he was in Chicago for our Two Lolo's passing. My dad loved all of his family and he had such a special place for his younger brother Lolo. May they both rest in peace.
