Dean Ray Boyd Sr., 70, of Mabank went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Kaufman after a brave struggle with cancer. Memorial services celebrating Dean’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Christian Life Center Church in Gun Barrel City with Pastor Barry Boatright officiating.

Dean was born on December 23, 1946 in Hillboro, Texas. He is the son of the late Lester Ray Boyd and Thelma Jo Birdwell. He was raised and educated in Hillsboro. Dean married Louise Marie Boyd on October 10, 1975. He worked as an HVAC mechanic all of his adult life until his retirement. He served as a Boy Scout Leader for 10 years. He loved Bull Riding and enjoyed reading.

He is loved and will be missed by his wife Marie Boyd; son Dean Boyd Jr.; brother Randy Curtis and wife Becky; and sister Kim Wise.
