William Holtz Obituary

William "Bill" Emerson Holtz, Sr. peacefully passed from this realm to enter his eternal home on Saturday, March 29, 2025, exactly two months after his 90th birthday.

Bill was a jovial person who was always the life of the party and frequently hosted gatherings. Born on January 29, 1935, he spent his youth in Northern New Jersey before relocating to Texas with his late wife, June, their daughter, Jennifer, and son, Bill Jr.

Bill served in the US Army, including a tour in France, and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. After his service, he excelled in sales, where he had a strong reputation for building solid rapport with his customers. Once retired, Bill spent his days socializing, attending Silver Sneakers classes, enjoying delicious food, and savoring his favorite wines.

He and his wife, June, were married for 57 years, and he devoted himself to her care during her final years. After being widowed, Bill met a special lady named Sandra, with whom he traveled and shared many cherished memories.

A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Bill enjoyed spending time with people, including regular meetings with a group of men who met to support and pray for one another. Bill never met a stranger and brought joy into every room he entered. He was constantly optimistic, no matter what happened, except during a Dallas Cowboys loss.

Bill, also known as "Pop" and "Grandpa," celebrated Christmas with his children and granddaughter every year. "Pop" and his daughter, Jennifer, were very close. For many years, they looked forward to their daily phone call to check on each other.

In addition to his wife, June Holtz, Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Betty Palermo and Barbara Barrowclough.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Holtz (Steve Hardin); his son, Bill Holtz Jr. (Wendy Holtz); his granddaughter, Ella Holtz; his younger sister, Peggy Bryant; and his nieces and nephews.

Bill will be greatly missed by those close to him. But his smile and ever-positive attitude will remain in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
