Wanda Pate, age 75, of Quinlan, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:oopm on Monday, January 6, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with her quilts on display.
Wanda Gail Jenkins Pate was born in Dallas, Texas on November 1, 1949, to the late Mr. Denver Delray Jenkins and Janice Bickle Jenkins. She was raised in Garland and graduated from South Garland High School. She attended Eastland College and Navarro College, graduating with a degree in engineering. She married Jerry Eugene Pate on September 19, 1998, in Garland and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2013. She was a member of the Ladies Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and bird watching. Wanda was very talented with crafts and always had several projects going. She loved to quilt and was a member of several quilting guilds. She also enjoyed cross stitch, sewing and cross stitch, sewing and other crafts. She was a member of the Skeet Gun Club and was an incredible shot, winning several awards for her shooting. She was a proud supporter of the volunteer fire departments and a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques, Thomas Kinkade, Boyds Bears, Longerberger heirloom baskets, as well as wonderful items from family and friends. Wanda was a simple woman that loved her family, her dogs and traditions. She was a fantastic cook and loved the holidays. She loved reading, watching movies, and listening to country music. Wanda was witty, organized, detail orientated and a financial wizard. She always had a smile on her face. She is loved and will be missed by her son, Jeff Forbis and wife Carla of Quinlan; daughter Amie Oneal and husband Jerry of Quinlan: grandchildren Chancelor Wolfe and Kathryn of Quinlan: Dakota Forbis and wife Taylor of Quinlan: James Griser: Denver Jenkins great grandchildren Tommilynn Forbis , Charles Wolfe, Bradley Forbis
