"Some people don't get to live soft lives. We get handed chaos, grief, betrayal and we have to learn how to bloom anyway. We become the ones who know how to carry others when their world falls apart because we remember what it was like when no one showed up for us.
We're not here because it was easy. We're here because we didn't give up."
Solana Lynn Batchelor, born on March 2, 1988, in Athens, Texas, passed away from complications of type 1 diabetes on November 17, 2025. She is survived by her loving mother, Debbra Hurst; stepfather, John Hurst; father, Jim Batchelor; stepmother, Mindy Batchelor; and her cherished children, Trenton Batchelor, Tara Sharp, and Jaxson Klumb. Solana is also remembered by her brother, Jim Batchelor and Hoss Lee Slocum; her sister, April Case; her grandmother, Ann Batchelor; her aunts and uncle, Theresa Holley, Diane Schultz, Karen Ramsey, Darren Busby and William Moore; and many other family and friends.
Solana's vibrant spirit was evident in her many passions. She loved coloring, which brought her immense joy, and she often found solace in the tranquility of nature, particularly in the presence of butterflies and red cardinals. Her love for the color pink reflected her cheerful disposition and zest for life. Her voice filled the air as she sang, sharing her joy with those around her. The birth of her three children marked some of the most memorable moments in her life, as she embraced motherhood with love and dedication.
Though Solana's time with us was brief, her legacy will forever be cherished by her family and friends. As they gather to celebrate her life, they will remember her laughter, her kindness, and the love she shared with everyone she met. Her journey may have ended, but the memories of Solana will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Solana was preceded in death by her grandmother Sammye Busby, grandfather Calvin Busby Sr., grandmother Georgeann Hurst; grandfather Clarence Batchelor and uncles, Ronnie Corne and Calvin Busby Jr.
