She attended school in Lone Oak where she was head cheerleader, baton twirler, Miss Lone Oak, and the Football Sweetheart. She met the love of her life in her freshman year. She graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1968 and married her high school sweetheart, Richard Wayne Horton at Weiland Church of Christ. She loved taking care of others and worked as a nurse’s aide for Greenville Hospital. During the 1970’s, Sharon worked as a seamstress for Henson Sewing Factory in Greenville. She delivered papers for Greenville Herald Banner and The Shopper. She had an incredible talent for sewing and enjoyed making costumes and dresses. She was also an exceptional cake decorator and loved designing cakes for the many children’s parties that she hosted. She adored children and loved to entertain them by playing ‘Miss Santa’ and taking memory photos at the Crossroads Mall in Greenville. Sharon excelled at most everything she did in life and was most proud of being a loving wife and devoted mother. Sharon also enjoyed playing cards, dominos, skip-Bo and farkle. She had a green thumb when it came to gardening and her talent could be seen in her beautiful flowers. She won Greenville Yard of the Month many times during the 1980’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on May 7, 2013, and her brother, Kenneth Wayne Devenport in 1979.
