"True greatness is not in what we accomplish but in how we touch the lives of others.” Few embodied this truth more beautifully than Roberta Louise Campbell Crouse. A devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and steadfast Christ-follower, Roberta, affectionately known as "Bobbie," left a legacy that cannot be measured by worldly standards but by the immeasurable impact of her selflessness, grace, and unwavering faith.
Born in Houston, Texas, to James Miller Campbell and Roberta Idabell Gibson, Bobbie grew up rooted in family values and a heart for service. Her grandparents, Mable Lee Browder, Alfred Alonzo Gibson, and Lewis and Ellen Campbell, played an instrumental role in shaping her heart for others. A proud graduate of Garland High School’s Class of 1960 (Dallas, TX), Bobbie went on to live a life devoted to love, family, and faith.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Danny R. Crouse, her three children, Brian Tucker, Lori Tucker Evans, and Lara Stoughton; her grandchildren, Brianna and Michael Tucker, Billy Marc Talley, James Aron Keith Evans, and Farryn Joy Stoughton; and her great-grandchildren, Wyatt Augustus Talley and Tana Lynn Talley.
Bobbie lived as the hands and feet of Jesus. She was a woman of remarkable grace who saw beauty in the smallest moments. Despite experiencing profound loss—the passing of a child, her children’s father, and a life-altering accident that changed her son’s path—Roberta never wavered in her faith. She met every challenge with gratitude, never once complaining, and always finding the best in every situation.
Her life was a living testimony to her favorite scriptures:
“God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”
– 2 Timothy 1:7
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
– Proverbs 3:5-6
Bobbie's joy was her family. In April, surrounded by her loved ones in a rare gathering of everyone in one place, she remarked to Danny, “I know this was my going away party, but I’m not ready to leave yet. I’m not done taking care of everyone. I still have some things to fix.”
She was a woman of simple yet profound delights. She loved to laugh—her sense of humor was infectious—and she had a deep affection for birds, filling her yards with birdhouses. She was a skilled cook, entertaining family and friends with meals made without measurements, yet always perfect. She even danced joyfully, winning country dance competitions with her boundless energy and magnetic smile.
Bobbie was not only selfless but humble, embodying the servant’s heart. Whether cleaning homes, funeral parlors, or helping others in quiet, unseen ways, nothing was beneath her if it served those in need.
Her church family in Kennesaw, Georgia, was a source of strength and connection for the past decade. She attended faithfully, volunteered, and participated in small groups, modeling her deep and unwavering love for Jesus Christ.
Bobbie will be remembered for her kindness, soft heart, genuine soul, and precious spirit. She leaves a legacy of true grace, gratitude, and unconditional love—a light that will continue to shine in the lives of all she touched.
A celebration of her life will be held on February 17th at 2 pm at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, Texas where we will honor her memory, share stories, and reflect on the eternal impact of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to NorthStar Church in Kennesaw, GA reflecting her generous spirit and love for others.
Bobbie lived not only as a servant of Christ but as an inspiration to everyone around her. Her life reminds us all to live with love, lead with grace, and always find joy in the journey. She will be greatly missed.
