Robert "Junior" Griffin Obituary

Robert “Junior” or “Pops” Wayne Griffin was in born Dallas, Texas on January 7, 1948. Upon graduating from Skyline High School, he did numerous jobs. He was a masonry by trade and worked for First Choice Realty out of Quinlan, Texas for 20 years. He won his battle with cancer after 9 ½ years. He was a fighter and fought all the way until God called him home. He made so many friends over the years. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off of his back or a meal to someone in need.  He always found the good in people and when asked why he was helping someone he didn’t know, he would say that everyone needs someone. In the past several years he began working on bicycles which he did to pass time and he enjoyed.  He will be loved and missed by his beloved daughters, Jennifer Griffin and boyfriend Troy Hamilton, Chrystal Griffin-Mitchell and husband Terrence Mitchell, April Griffin and boyfriend Alexander Ray; grandchildren, Danielle Edwards, Hope Griffin, Hailey Griffin, Kosondra Griffin, Samantha Griffin and Jenna Degrate. He is also survived by his sisters, Charlotte Hickman, Barbara Normandeau and brothers, Ray Helton, Roy Wilson and lots of nieces and nephews. He proceeded in death his mother Lillie Mae Collins, son Robert Griffin II, and brother Steve Wilson. He will be missed by lots of friends and family that called him Pops.

Special thanks to David Easterling, Sylvia Autry, Shane Harden, Tim Brown, and Rick Casey. Thanks for the medical treatment for the last 9 year’s Dr. Larry Myers and team at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.
