Robert Donald Gwaltney

Robert Donald Gwaltney, (Bob) age 96 of Royse City, went to be with his Lord and Savor on April 18, 2022.

Bob was born on November 20, 1925, in Faribault, Minnesota to Artie Carrolton Gwaltney, Emma Lena Dietz. Bob attended Wilsall Schools and was in the Navy in WWII. He married Shirley on Aug. 4th, 1946, and later divorced and married Evelyn on Sept. 1, 1953, then became widowed in July 2010.  Robert became Chief of Communications for the State of Montana and retired in 1980. He was part of the Shriners, Scottish Rite, and the Masons. Bob was an outdoors type, he loved hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, camping, playing music with the family, and he was an outstanding craftsman when building anything out of wood. He was the type of person you wanted to be around.

Bob is survived by his sons; Rod Gwaltney and wife Lois, Bob Gwaltney and wife Heidi, and Lance Gwaltney, along with 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Bud and Brownie, Sisters Pat, Pearl, Maggie, Alta, and his wife Evelyn and 1st wife Shirley.

As you set by the waters or sit still in the woods, or hear the strings of a guitar, or the smell of a campfire think of me with happy thoughts.
