Rita Ruth (McLemore) Cummings

Rita Ruth Cummings, 81, of Alba passed away on December 14, 2021. She was born on September 18, 1940, in Larue, TX to Wilbur and Martha McLemore.

Rita grew up in Whitton and Dallas. She attended Scurry-Rosser High School and Whitton Community School. Rita married the love of her life, Steven Cummings on December 27, 1975, in Dallas.

Rita loved sewing and singing. She was known for keeping her family together.

Rita is survived by her husband, Steven Cummings; sons: Dalton Cummings of Alba, Tommy Woody of Dallas, Ridgell Woody and wife Angie of Canton; daughters: Harley Zukowski of Valliant, OK, Vivian Woody of Balch Springs; brother: Joe McLemore of Pond Creek, OK; grandchildren: John Woody, Junior Woody, Gary Wood, Jr., Cheyenne Aldrich, Rusty Adrich, Skeet Aldrich, Jr. and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Woody; brother, Tommy McLemore; and sister, Peggy Arnold.

There will be a funeral service at 4:00 pm on December 21, 2021, in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to service from 3:00 – 4:00 pm.
