Raymond Pendegrass Obituary

Raymond Ott Pendegrass, age 80, of Mesquite, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 15, 2024, A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00A.M. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.

Raymond Ott Pendegrass was born on Sunday, June 20, 1943, in Broseley, Missouri to the late Mr. Cleatis E. Pendegrass and Alma Retta Lee Pendegrass. He married the love of his life, Miss Charlene Foster on December 24, 1965, in Broseley, Missouri and she preceded him in death on January 30, 2020. Raymond worked for the City Street Department in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. A job opportunity brought him to Texas in 1982 and he retired from Quaker Oats Corp. after 25 years of loyal service. Raymond acted as RV Park Host for Tawakoni State Park for 2 years. He enjoyed fishing and playing bingo. He also enjoyed spending time in casinos playing slot machines. Raymond had an incredible talent for woodworking and made clocks and flower beds for his vegetable gardens. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid Texas Rangers fan. Raymond understood that he needed a new heart and only the pure Gospel of Christ has the power to transform lives. Gods message of salvation can change each of us into a new creation in Christ. He accepted God’s grace 25 years ago and received his new heart. He attended Lake Fork Baptist Church, where he enjoyed witnessing about the Lord’s grace because God’s love changes everything.

He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his son, Darrin Pendegrass of Emory; daughter, Rhetta Chavez, and husband Lin of Mesquite; grandchildren, Kayla Calzada, Kimberley Hampton, Miranda Chavez, and Marcella Chavez; great grandchildren, Javin Calzada, Amayah Leos, Aliyah Pearson, Adrian Pearson, and Aryia Johnson.
