Raymond Dale Arterberry

Raymond Dale Arterberry, age 62, of Celeste, passed away, Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Hogeye Cemetery in Celeste, Texas under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan. Visitation and viewing will be held Monday from 10:00am – 4:00pm at the funeral home.

Raymond Arterberry was born on September 9, 1957 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Raymond Leon Arterberry and Joyce Sells Arterberry. He was raised in the Mangum, Oklahoma area for 10 years until moving to Texas in the Dallas area. He enlisted into the United States Army on April 28, 1976 and honorably served his country for 10 years.  He married Lela Best on March 1, 1985 in Marietta, Oklahoma. He worked as a truck driver for VSS Transportation Group Inc. hauling freight of all kinds. He was preceded in death by his father in December of 2000.

He is loved and will be missed by his devoted wife of 35 years, Lela Arterberry of Celeste, mother, Joyce Arterberry of Royse City, sons, Ricky Dale Arterberry of Lewisville, David Simms and wife Cindy of Telephone, Heath Tywater and wife Letty of Irving, daughter, Amy Spraggins of Weatherford, brother, Terry Kevin Arterberry and wife Julie of Royse City, sisters, Deborah Haney and husband Michael of Wills Point and Angela Arterberry of Farmersville, sister-in-law, Delilah Dietz of Celeste and her children, Brittany Jones and husband Speed of Roundrock and Clayton Dietz and wife Tasha of Sherman, grandchildren, Rory Arterberry, Evan Arterberry, Aiden Arterberry, Hayley Drawdy, Delaney Tywater, Landon Tywater, Jacole Perryman, Kevin Spraggins, Jordan Spraggins, and Brooke Spraggins, numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and his K9 kid and travel partner, Rowdy Arterberry.
