Paul Edward Wooten, 69, of Forney, TX passed away on June 15, 2022, in Dallas, TX. He was born on January 8, 1953 in Harris County to Willie Fred and Laura Juanita Wooten. Paul grew up with 9 brothers and sisters. He enlisted in the United States Army at 17 years old and was stationed in West Germany. After serving his time in the army, he was invited to Gospel Chapel Church in Dallas, TX and it was there he dedicated the rest of his life to serving Jesus. He raised both of his children there in that assembly and now his grandchildren are being raised there too. He was also one of the best carpet layers and served many of God’s people and churches by laying their carpet.
Paul was a very intelligent and studious man who loved to read, liked science fiction, do crossword puzzles, play board games, and play dominos. He loved his family very much and spending time with them was his favorite thing to do. Becoming a Pawpaw was one of the best things he ever did. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and grand dogs. One of his favorite things was a good cup of hot chocolate early in the morning and reading his Bible.
He is survived by his daughter, Sara Crocker and Justin of Forney; son, Donald Abel Wooten of Mesquite; brother, Johnny Wooten and Mona of Heath; sisters: Marlene Lennon and Tommy of Wills Point; Mary Lock and Joe of Houston; grandchildren: Cadence, Anderson, Jace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jackie Wooten, Willie Wayne Wooten, James Wooten; sisters: Florence Beth Blankenship, Laura “Jeannie” Harris, and Cathy Ann Wooten.
There will be a memorial service at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Gospel Chapel, 4662 W US Hwy. 80, Terrell, TX 75160. (Flowers to be delivered directly to church)
