Ophelia Ann Branham, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on July 18, 1940, in Greenville, Ophelia spent her later years in East Tawakoni, surrounded by the family and life she loved so dearly.
Ophelia was the heart and backbone of her family, the one everyone turned to for comfort, wisdom, strength, unconditional love, or simply a good conversation on the phone. She was kindhearted, deeply family-oriented, and never met a stranger. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter, and loved when family would stop by to visit. When it was time for everyone to leave, she would smile and say, "Well, what's your hurry?" because being surrounded by the people she loved most brought her so much joy.
She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed Wheel of Fortune. She also loved traveling, visiting casinos, camping with her children, spending days on the lake, and making memories with family and friends.
She took pride in keeping a welcoming home where everyone felt comfortable. She had a funny side and a strong personality, often saying, "I'm over it," in a way only she could. More than anything, Ophelia loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world and brought her endless pride and happiness.
She is survived by her children, Michael Bowman and Carla Brown and spouse Dennis Skidmore; her grandchildren, Cris Bowman and spouse Robin Bowman, Josh Bowman and spouse Latisha Bowman, Colby Brown, Tiffany Brown and spouse James Pryor, Brittany Brown, Preston Skidmore, Nathan Howard and Megan Howard; and her great-grandchildren, Noah Brown, Addison Foust, Colton Brown, Mason Foust, Eleanor Bowman, Kaydence Brown, Landon Brown, Carter Maynor, and Brexli Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Husband Carl Branham and beloved son, Byron Bowman, along with many cherished family members and dear friends who welcomed her into Heaven.
While her family's hearts are deeply broken, they find comfort in knowing she passed peacefully and is now reunited with loved ones in the presence of the Lord. Her love, guidance, laughter, and beautiful spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Ophelia Ann Branham will be held on May 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
