Neta McCain

Neta Rhea McCain, born on March 12, 1934, in Dallas, TX, passed away on June 9, 2026, in Quinlan, TX. Neta was a devoted Administrative Assistant in the health care industry before her retirement at the age of 87. She is survived by her loving daughters, Cynthia Edson, Vicki Walker, and Lisa McCain, sons-in-law, Bill Edson and Davy Gibbs, sister Kathy Bridges and brother-in-law Hollis Bridges.

Throughout her life, Neta was known for her creativity and passion for sewing and crafts. She found joy in tending to her flower beds, ensuring that her yard was as beautiful as her spirit. A voracious reader, she made it a daily habit to lose herself in books, expanding her horizons and nurturing her love for literature. Neta cherished the moments spent on cruises over the past 15 years, traveling to new destinations and making lasting memories with family and friends.

Neta was a pillar of strength for her family, embraced wholeheartedly by her 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren as their beloved mawmaw. She was a devout christen and actively participated in church activities, where she fostered cherished relationships and became an integral part of her community. With a love for shopping, she brought a vibrant energy to every gathering, often sharing laughter and smiles with those around her especially her family.

Neta's legacy of love, warmth, and dedication will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her unwavering support and nurturing spirit will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.

Neta was preceded in death by her son Dennis McCain, brother Don Burnett, sister Nancy Burnett and her parents Walter (Lefty) and Myrtle Burnett
