Monroe Cruise Obituary

Monroe Ladell Cruise, age 77, of Quinlan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held at 3:00P.M. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Hart Cemetery in Cash. Visitation will be held from 4:00P.M. – 7:00P.M. on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Ingram Funeral Home. 

 

Monroe Ladell Cruise was born on Friday, December 10, 1943, in Cunningham, Texas to the late Mr. Benjamin Cruise and the late Tommie Mae Robinson Cruise. He was raised and attended school in Cunningham, TX , Monroe worked as a farm hand at a local farm for 3 years where he baled hay and pulled cotton. Monroe was a large man, and it was during this time that professional wrestler, Andre the Giant agent tried to recruit him into being a professional wrestler but he shy.  He  left the farm to pursue a career as a machine operator for Wing Industries in Greenville where he made door parts. During that time he met a beautiful operator named Miss Nita Louise Bacak. Monroe was determined in his pursuit of Nita, and they married on August 28, 1975. He continued working for Wings Industries until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, planting trees, feeding his cats. He loved riding his golf cart through the neighborhood to get the mail, visit neighbors, or cut a rose from a bush for his Nita. He will always be remembered as a gentle man with a huge heart. He was a loving father to his children, a dedicated husband to his wife and a loyal friend to those lucky enough to know him, Monroe was also stubborn, independent, and fiercely protective of those he loved. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Cruise of Cunningham, and James Cruise of Greenville.

He is loved and will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 45 years, Nita Cruise of Quinlan. Dustin Ladell Cruise of Quinlan; daughters, Selena Cruise and husband Ray Buitron of Quinlan, Kandice Cruise of Arizona, Mindy Cruise and Sean Ashby of Quinlan; sisters, Virginia Clayton of Nevada, Betty Sharp of Garland, Linda Ambercrbia of Garland; grandchildren, Dustin Ladell Cruise Jr, Kaitlynn Cruise, Tasha Clementsen, Anthony Cruise, Jessica Buitron, Aaliyah Marie Clay, Robyn Phillips; great grandchildren, Adan Watson ,Lilly Long and  Skylar Buitron and numerous cat kids.
