Merle Mary Harrison

Merle M. Harrison, born on November 1, 1934, in Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 30, 2025, at the age of 90 in Quinlan, Texas. A proud graduate and valedictorian of her high school class, Merle exemplified dedication to education and personal excellence. She worked as an administrative assistant at Sears, where she was known for her remarkable work ethic and kindness.

Merle's greatest passion was her family. She was a loving mother to her son Mitch Harrison and daughter Karen Harrison-Vaughan, and her daughter-in-law Michelle Harrison. Grandmother to Bryon Harrison, Brook Richardson, Brad Harrison, Erica Burritt, and Zach Vaughan. Merle cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, and her legacy continues through them. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, including Madison Harrison, Trent Espinosa, Bella Anderson, Brynlee Anderson, Eli Mitchell Harrison and Brennan Burritt. Her great-great grandchildren include Karson Porter and Krew Porter. Merle was proud to recently welcome Matthew Johnson and Joshua Johnson as her great-grandchildren as well.

An avid cook and baker, Merle delighted in preparing meals and treats for her family, creating memorable gatherings filled with love and laughter. Her home was often the centerpiece for family celebrations, where the aroma of her delicious recipes lingered, leaving cherished memories for all who were fortunate enough to partake in them. Merle's nurturing spirit and commitment to her family will forever be remembered by those who loved her.

Merle's remains will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at the home of her son in Quinlan, Texas. Please join the family and gather to honor her remarkable life and legacy on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 2pm.

Merle was preceded in death by: Elmer Miller, Emma Miller, Eunelle Waldie, Don Lewis Miller, Hollis Dale Milller, Rex Truman Miller, and Thomas Harrison
