Marvin Dewayne (Suzie) Winniford

Marvin Dewayne (Suzie) Winniford, Cumby, Texas, 84, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019 at his residence.  He was born on May 28, 1935 to Claude Sherwin and Stella Mae Winniford in Commerce, Texas.

Suzie is preceded in death by his father and mother, and his lovely wife, Gloria Winniford.

He is survived by his brothers, Algene Winniford and wife, Elaine of Waco, Texas and Joe Winniford and wife, Mary of Greenville, Texas, daughters Donna Davis, Cumby, Texas, Devy Bert, Cumby, Texas and son Steve Winniford, Tool, Texas, grandchildren Katie Schwark and husband Stephen, Kelsie Winniford, and great-grandchildren Emily Keene, Cannon Schwark and Cavin Schwark, and nieces and nephews.

Suzie retired as a truck driver and loved spending time camping in his RV, sitting by a campfire telling stories, listening to country music, and watching Texas Rangers baseball.  He had a wonderful personality who loved to laugh.  He never met a person he did not like, and he was loved by all.  He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.  He was a Master Mason for 47 years with the James Ladd Burgess Lodge No. 1305.

In lieu of a funeral service, there will be a celebration of life for Suzie held on Saturday, November 9th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Call 214-395-8463 for details.  The family requests you come and share stories and celebrate his life by laughter.
