Luther Fleming Obituary

Luther Anderson Fleming, a dedicated construction businessman, and beloved father, passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 87 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Born on October 13, 1938, in Emory,Texas. Luther’s life was a testament to hard work, loving the Lord, perseverance, and the simple joys that life has to offer. He proudly served as a Private in the Army, carrying his commitment and discipline from military service into his career and personal life.

 

A man of many passions, Luther found joy in the great outdoors, particularly through fishing and spending time on the water. He cherished fishing trips with his daughter, often sharing those experiences with his loved ones. His love for the thrill of Nascar, old westerns and the excitement of boxing gave him many memorable moments, whether he was cheering for his favorite drivers or fighters. Luther’s hard-working spirit earned him the respect and admiration of those around him, and he left an indelible mark on the lives of his friends and family.

 

Luther is survived by his beloved daughter Alana Groneman, step-daughter Alisa Sutton, sisters Charlene Owens, Ella Beth Johnson, and Doris Horrocks, brothers Jerry and Calvin Fleming, ex-wife Sondra Guthrie. He also leaves behind his step-grandchild Cierra Sutton, who will carry on his legacy of love and resilience. As we celebrate Luther's life, we remember a man who embraced every opportunity with grit, hard work, and prayer. Continuously shared his knowledge and kindness with all.

 

Luther was preceded in death by: Wife Marsha May, brother Robert Fleming, and parents Charlie and Rosa Fleming.
