Lunell Parnell, aged 89, passed away peacefully at her home, in Troup, Texas, on September 16, 2024. Born on April 19, 1935, in Willow, Oklahoma, Lunell dedicated her life to caring for others, both as a nurturing family member and throughout her esteemed career as a nurse. She earned her nursing degree in Clinton, Oklahoma, and spent many years in the profession she loved.
Lunell was a woman of many passions. She found joy in reading, dancing, cooking, and traveling. Most of all, she cherished time spent with family and watching the vibrant country life from her front porch. She enjoyed visiting family and holding hands. She was a longstanding member of the Grace Herald Baptist Church in Overton, Texas, where she engaged in community and faith activities.
She leaves behind a loving family: her husband, James C. Parnell. Children; Kirk Tracy and his wife Wick, Kim Perkins; Stepchildren Sandi Todd and Husband John, Mindy Parnell and David Parnell; Sister, Maddie "Ruth" Roberts; Ten Grandchildren; Christi Crow, Ashley Edwards, David Lindsey, Ryan Kelly, Brendan Bartlett, Robin Coss, Kameron Tracy, Kolton Tracy, Emma Adkins, Noah Perkins; 14 Great Grand Children; Logan Cox, Constance Crow, Aubry Johnson. Tanner Crow, Hanna Lindsey. Clayton Lindsey, Brock Kelly, Edan Coss, Nehemiah Coss, River Coss, Joy Coss, Hayes Johnson.
Lunell was preceded in death by her siblings Estelle Flemmons, Bill Johnson, Kenneth Johnson Daughter Keta Kelly and Grandson Billy Lindsey.
Lunell's life was a testament to her kindness, resilience, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the memories of those who knew her.
