Linda Joyce Baker Devereaux, age 79, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.
Linda was born on March 7, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Mr. Jack Baker and Winnie Mae Young Baker. She was raised and graduated high school in Freer, Texas. During her high school years, Linda was very popular and served as Homecoming Queen and Cheerleader. Linda attended Dougherty Nursing School at Baylor University and graduated in 1966 with her nursing degree. She served as a registered nurse for Parkland, where she met the love of her life, Stanley Eugene Devereaux, they married on January 12, 1973, at Highland Baptist Church in Carrollton. He preceded her in death in February 2006. Following her retirement, she worked from home for several insurance companies. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing computer games and reading crime mysteries. She also loved going on cruises and playing the slot machines at casinos.
She enjoyed fishing and was an exceptional cook. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan.
She is dearly loved and will greatly missed by her sons, Douglas E. Devereaux and wife Jamie Devereaux, and Bradley M. Devereaux Sr. and wife LeAnne Devereaux; daughter, Mionne K. Camp; Grandchildren, Carlos Reyes Ill; Kimberly Patton-Devereaux; Courtney Patton-Devereaux; Bradley
M. Devereaux Jr., Dylan J. Devereaux, Kaylee Sherman, Michah Sherman, and Rachel Auten. Great Grandchildren, Prince Garza, Aidan Masters, Vincent Auten, Leighton Devereaux, Emery Garcia, Ellie Garcia, Harper Devereaux, Everleigh Devereaux, Aeris Auten, Kyra Turner, Zyla Turner, Maya Sherman, Makenna Gladney, and Macia Buggs. Nephews, Clint Gaddy, Todd Hiley, Nigel Hiley and Niece, Erin Province.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lanet Collier on August 23, 2023
