Lillian Carrier of McKinney, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2021, at the age of 99. She was born in Napoleon, Ohio, on March 7, 1922, to the late Carl and Sophia (Damman) Von Deylen. On May 19, 1945, she married Donald Carrier of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In 1954 the couple moved to Warrenton, Virginia, when Donald accepted a job with the Federal government. While there, they were founding and active members of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. After retiring, they moved to DeSoto, Texas, to be near their grandchildren. Lillian was a quiet woman who diligently cared for her husband and three children. In her younger years she served faithfully in her church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and needlework, and reading.
Lillian is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Judith and Ron Berteotti of McKinney, Texas, and Lois and John Hellie of Allen, Texas; three grandchildren, Michael Berteotti of McKinney, Texas, Christine (William) Blose of Wexford, Pennsylvania, and Joseph (Andrea) Berteotti of Frisco, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Luke and Brent Blose and Benjamin and Lily Berteotti; a sister-in-law, Mary Carrier of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by four step-grandchildren, Paige (Dirk) Hamp, Bruce (Brenda) Paterson, Ross (Shannon) Paterson, and Ryan (Jennifer) Paterson, and 11 step-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Carolyn Carrier; four brothers, Julius, Arthur, Frank, and Paul Von Deylen; a sister, Dorothy Sonnenberg; and a brother-in-law, Byron Carrier.
A private graveside service and interment will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas at a date to be decided.
