Sunset January 31, 2025

Leon "T-Bone" Jackson was born to Ivory and Rosetta Jackson in Linden, Texas. He was raised in a close-knit family alongside his six siblings-brothers Benny, Marshall, and Allen (affectionately known as Teddy Boy), and sisters Vera, Nanky, and Alice.

Leon was a hardworking man who dedicated 25 years of service to Continental Steel Company before retiring. In his retirement, he enjoyed the country life, raising goats, chickens, and sheep. He also had a deep love for dogs, hunting, guns, and gardening.

Leon was known for his infectious personality and sharp sense of humor-he never missed an opportunity to make people laugh. His stories were legendary, especially the ones about his fascination with Bonnie and Clyde, whom he proudly claimed as friends. He had a passion for nice cars and pretty women, in his mind he was a true ladies' man. But in reality, he was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 59 years, Verta Jackson .

Leon was a proud father to his 17 children. With Betty Jackson he shared his first set of children: Cleon, Bettie Jo, Ivory Joe, Lynn, Evender, Tony, Karon, Lavonda, Jerry and Jessica. With Verta Jackson he shared his second set of children: Darnell, Tommy, Ronnie, Donnie, Timmy, Eddie and LeeLee. He was also a cherished grandfather to 44 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to him, and he made sure to pass down his wisdom, humor, and strong work ethic to the generations that followed.

Leon's presence could light up any room, and his laughter was contagious. He leaves behind a family that will forever cherish his love, his stories, and his unwavering strength. Though he may be gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivory and Rosetta Jackson, his 6 siblings Benny, Marshall, and Allen and si Vera, Nanky, and Alice, along with his 2 sons Darnell and Ivory Joe Jackson.

He leaves behind his beloved family - his wife Verta Jackson; his 15 children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
