Larry V. Womble, age 80, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held later.
Larry Von Womble was born on March 30, 1944, in McKinney, Texas to the late Amos Price Womble and Sally Audra Haynes Womble. He graduated from McKinney High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a long-haul trucker by trade and worked all he could driving trucks across Texas. Upon his retirement, Larry fulfilled his dreams by moving from Texas to Kingston, Oklahoma to live on Lake Texoma. He loved life on the lake with family and friends. All were welcome at Larry’s place. He enjoyed visiting and just enjoying company. Over the years, many people passed through his door, and he always felt blessed to share his place with each of them. He loved his daughter and grandson and all the wonderful memories they created over the years at the lake.
He is greatly loved and dearly missed by his daughter, Marla Womble of Point; grandson, Jonathon Williams of Plano; sisters, Laverne Riley of Dallas, Bettye Walterscheid of Moore, Oklahoma and Charlotte Denman of The Colony; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Elwyn Womble.
