Lawrence Alan Kriigel, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Waco. Funeral services celebrating Larry’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with interment immediately following at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Terrell. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
Larry was born on March 26, 1947 in Takoma Park, Maryland. He was adopted at birth and became the son of the late Donald and Leila Westberg Kriigel. After high school, Larry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and served on the USS Enterprise from 1965 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. Larry married Sandra Jean Glenn on July 11, 1997 and they made their home in Quinlan until her passing on March 1, 2011. He was a World War II and Vietnam War historian and was known for his strong sense of patriotism. He was a simple man who enjoyed playing on his computer, listening to Gaither gospel music, and watching cartoons. He also loved his dog “Rusty” very much.
He is loved and will be missed by his daughter Jeannie Partin and her husband, Jim; grandchildren William Leigh, Caleb Leigh, Bailey Leigh, Jaden Leigh, Jordan Leigh and Reagan Partin, and sister Becky Koeppen and her husband Ed of Maryland.
