Kimbrala Lair Obituary

“I have fought the good fight,

I have finished the race,

 I have kept the faith.”

 – 2 Timothy 4:7

Kimbrala Jo Lair, 53, of Emory, Texas, went to the arms of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 14th 2021.

Kim entered this world while her parents were hurriedly in route to the hospital, and true to form, she spent her life loving all things fast. Growing up, she barrel- raced her beloved horse, Big Red, and played every sport offered in her district, excelling in them all.  In her adulthood, she enjoyed attending Nascar events, dirt races, drag strip races, boat races, and, of course, the horse races. Never one to idly stand back and watch, she would often run the side lines with the horses as they entered their final stretch.

Kim spent her 15 year career with American Airlines, starting in flight attendant recruitment (where she got her sister in as a FA), then as a paralegal in the legal department, before transferring to ramp training.

The apples of her eye were her daughter and her two grandkids, her boo bear & love button. She looked forward to attending ball games, being their loudest fan in the stands, and spending quality time with them. She was proud to be their Lola, doting on them every chance that she got.

Anyone who ever met Kimbrala Jo, will tell you how her smile was infectious, her laugh- loud, and her heart- strong. Always wanting to serve others, she would help her family and friends in any way that she could. A true warrior, she was tenacious, strong-willed and was someone that anyone would want to have on their side in life. Being a faithful disciple, she spent her later days attending Clarks Chapel Church of God, singing praise and worship to her Lord and Savior, quoting His scripture, and witnessing to anyone who would listen. Through the trials in life, she continued to remain steadfast in her love for Jesus.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Idus Lair and her older sister, JeanAnn Hockaday.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret Lair; sister, LaTonna Drake and husband Curt; daughter, Karissa Wray and husband Sammy; grandkids Keegan and Kadence Wray; nephews, J.C. White and Audie McAree; nieces, Brittainy Thomas and husband Kevin, Baylee Bookman and husband Billy, and Presley McAree; great niece, Kinzlee Thomas; great nephews, Kameon Thomas and Kruz Keith; as well as numerous other family members and close friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Clark’s Chapel Church of God, in Flats, Texas on Saturday October 30, 2021 at 11 a.m.
