Johnnie Thornton Obituary

Johnnie Christine Carruth Thornton, age 62, of Alba, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 15, 2021. A Celebration of her life will be held at 10:00AM Monday, August 30, 2021, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.

 

Johnnie Christine Carruth Thornton was born on November 16, 1958, in Tarrant County to the late Mr. John D. Carruth and Malie Christine Merrell Carruth. She was raised in the Celeste and Greenville areas. She attended and graduated from Bland High School. She was a member of the Alba and Lone Oak Cowboy Churches. Johnnie had a passion for horses and loved spending time riding and caring for her beautiful animals. She also had a very talented green thumb. Johnnie enjoyed planting and gardening. She loved finding dying plants and nursing them back to health. She was an exceptionally talented cook. Her homemade chicken and dumplings and hot chocolate was incredible. She married Terry Jan Thornton on April 18, 1981, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her dog, Little Bit.

 

She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her Son, David Thornton of Alba; Daughters, Sondra Harding of Greenville, and Tammy Miller; Brothers, Larry Carruth of Greenville and Johnny Andrew Carruth of New Mexico; Sisters, Betty Traylor of Farmersville and Beverly Shindler and Husband Glenn of Oklahoma City; Grandchildren, Kaitlynn, David Jr., Legacie, Serenitie, Mykala, Cheynne, Patrick; Great Grandchild, Antionette; K9 Kid, Kane Thornton and numerous friends
