John Studabaker Obituary

John W. Studabaker, Sr, of Quinlan, passed away October 21, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan. Popcorn will be served in honor of his favorite Texas Rangers baseball game day snack.

John Wilbur Studabaker was born on July 31, 1939, in Constatine, Michigan to James William Studabaker and Lillan Emma Merritt. He was raised in St. Joseph County, Michigan and attended Constatine ISD. After high school, John enlisted into the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He married Nina Studabaker on April 10, 1980, in Middle Berry, Indiana and they moved to Texas in 1981. John looked forward to returning to Michigan each year for the annual family deer hunting trip. He also enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends. In younger years, John enjoyed bowling but later developed a talent for golf.  John was an avid Texas Rangers fan and loved eating popcorn while he cheered on his team. He also loved stockcar racing. He fondly remembered when he and his brother, Jimmy built a stock car together and raced it. He enjoyed cooking and researching recipes. John was good with his hands, a hard worker and a welder by trade, finally retiring at the age of 73 years. Time with family and friends was important to John. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.

He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his sons, John Studebaker Jr. and wife Alana Keal and John Burnau and wife Dawn Milbourn; grandchildren, Jeffery Studabaker, Cecilia Studabaker, Jaymes Studabaker, Sonya Moyer, Ashley Bell, and John Burnau Jr.; great grandchildren, Grayson, Garrett, Gohn, Elijah, Layanah, Neveah, Ava, Bentley, Emily, Logan, and Yvonne.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nina Studabaker on September 17, 2019; his son, Jeffery Studabaker; brothers, Carlos, Leo, and twin brother, Jimmy; sisters, Clara Ann and baby sister, Eileen.
