John Ford Obituary

John Andrew Ford
July 10, 1946 - January 10, 2026

John Andrew Ford, age 79 of Quinlan, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him most.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of PV1. His military service was a source of quiet pride and lifelong honor.

Above all else, John was a devoted husband, loving father, and an amazing grandfather. Those who knew him would remember him as kind, steady, and deeply family-oriented—a man whose presence brought comfort and whose stories brought smiles.

One of his greatest joys was dancing with his beloved wife, Lesley. Those moments on the dance floor reflected the love story he cherished most. His proudest accomplishment in life was meeting and marrying Lesley, the love of his life, with whom he shared enduring devotion and countless memories.

An avid fisherman, John found peace on the water. He spent countless hours teaching his son how to fish and even more time together on the lake running jug lines for catfish. Fishing wasn’t just a hobby—it was a way he passed down patience, knowledge, and love.

He is survived by his family, who will continue to honor his legacy: His loving wife Lesley
• Son: Bradley James Pengelly and wife Joanna
• Grandson: Brendon Hunter Pengelly and wife Alexandria
• Nephew: Jason Oates
• Nieces: Sharlene Thompson and husband Tracy, Monique Armbruster and husband Charles
• Great-nieces: Lauren Spurlock and husband Luke, Rebecca Oates
• Great-nephew: Blake Armbruster and wife Maddie
• Four great-grand-nieces

John will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his devotion to family, love of the outdoors, pride in service, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life.
