Joe Dominguez

After a lengthy illness Joe M Dominguez age 79 passed away peacefully on July 10,2025 surrounded by his family in Point, TX. Born in Floresville, TX on October 24, 1946, to Tomas Dominguez and Jael (Chonita) Martinez Dominguez he lived a life of faith, love and service to others and was a friend to all that he met. If he wasn’t your friend that only meant that he had yet to meet you.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years Irene Solis Dominguez, his son Joe David Dominguez and the two things he loved most of all his granddaughters Fiona Rose Dominguez and Peyton Andrea Dominguez.

Joe is preceded in death by his son Rene Solis Dominguez who passed away May 4, 2005.Funeral service will be held at Emory Baptist Church on Wednesday July 23, 2025, at 10:00AM.

For over 20 years Joe was a truck driver and in 2010 parked his rig for the last time. A dedicated servant of God for a majority of his lifetime he was ordained as a deacon in 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church in Lone Oak, TX. in 2017, Joe and Irene became members of Emory Baptist Church where he remained a member until his passing.

His love of God and church lead him to children’s ministries, serving as an RA leader, a church bus driver and a children’s Sunday school teacher. Most of the children he knew and
taught knew him as “Grandpa Joe”. Many of his nieces and nephews were led to Christ by his assistance and actions.

A true neighbor and friend Joe will be missed by all.
