Jerry Lee Sanders, born on September 30, 1956, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a true good ol' country boy, cherished by all for his honesty, straightforwardness, and determination.
A longtime resident of Quinlan, Texas, Jerry was a hardworking man whose career begin as a carpet layer. He went on to become part owner of S&S Pool Services. Eventually, a lineman at Red Simpson and then a contracting supervisor at Citadel Construction. He earned the respect and friendship of everyone he worked with.
With a mind that was both practical and inventive, Jerry loved spending time on his front porch, where he could often be found working on a project or fixing something around the house. Jerry took pride in teaching those around him the value of hard work and self-reliance. He was the kind of man who showed you how to do things for yourself, while also being the first to offer help when you needed it.
Many will remember Jerry for his passion for fishing down by the lake, where he would share good times with a cold beer in hand, soaking up the beauty of nature. He took joy in dancing to country and western music, letting loose and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
Jerry was especially proud of his family. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Stormie and husband Billy Brown, and son, Trevor Sanders. A loving Papaw to his beautiful grandchildren; Hannah, Noah, Aliviah, Naudia, and Alexxys Brown. He created countless happy memories that will be cherished forever. He will always be remembered and loved by his best friend and former wife Kim Hudson. Jerry will be deeply missed by his sisters Cheryl Vaughan and Tammy Sanders, brothers Bobby, James, and Paul Sanders, stepsister Cheryl Johnston, and sister-in-law Tonya and Nancy Sanders along with his brother-in-law Keith Vaughan; nieces Reagan Olsen and Amanda Leverett and many other beloved family members.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will take place on May 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel. His family invites all who knew him to join in honoring the legacy of this one-of-a-kind man who embraced life with open arms and a kind heart.
