Jeanne Royston, affectionately known as Nanny, was born in Beaumont, Tx. on November 16, 1941. She left us at the age of 82, on July 27, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. where she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
She now sits at the feet of Jesus!
She leaves behind her three daughters, Traci Tipton, Jeri Miller and Catherine Rollins; her sons-in-law, Sonny Tipton and Chris Rollins; her grandchildren Jared Tipton, Ty Rollins and his wife Sydne, Leslie Rollins, Jeffery Miller, Isaiah Rollins, and Addie Miller; her great-grandchild, Rain Lewis Rollins; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Patsy Royston; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Larry Brumfield, Connie and Jessie Wheat, Kathy Harris and Pat and Randy Comeaux, also many beloved cousins and friends.
She is joining her beloved father and mother, Lud and Addie Royston, her beloved father and mother-in-law, Leslie and Rose Jeffers, and her son-in-law, Marcus Miller, in heaven for a glorious reunion.
She attended South Park High School in Beaumont, Tx. as a “Greenie” where she was a part of the Sigma Kappas, the Pan-American Student Forum, the Art Club, and the Greenie-dears drill team. She graduated in 1960.
She loved her career as a legal assistant. She worked for Cowles and Thompson until her retirement in 2012. She made lifelong friends with many of her co-workers including Jim Cowles , Chuck Green , Auston Cherry , Mike Northrup and Ken Mighell who were all very dear to her heart. Bridge was a part of the everyday culture at the law firm! They played daily at lunch and even some nights!
After retirement, she was a part of a local bridge group where she played several times a week with her good friend Della. Bridge was just one of her many hobbies. She was extremely competitive and enjoyed Scrabble, Dominoes, putting together puzzles and almost any card game.
Jeanne was a very strong woman to say the least. From raising three children to battling and surviving cancer, she always had a positive outlook. She lived for her children and grandchildren wholeheartedly and was beyond proud of each of them. She believed in hard work and lived that out until the end. Her example and legacy will live on through those who knew and loved her the most. She can now breathe freely with no “leash” as she liked to joke about her oxygen. We love you Mom, Nanny, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, friend. Until we meet again. 243
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
