Jeanette Sumners Thompson, age 84, passed peacefully on August 5, 2024, in Rockwall TX. Born in Dallas TX on April 19, 1940, to Delton Sumners & Helen Killingsworth. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School, where she met her future husband, Glenn Cambell. They married in 1957, and she graduated in 1958.
She worked as a head cashier for an insurance company until the birth of her son Darryl in1960. She returned to work at Texas Instruments until the birth of her second son Danny in 1963 and gave birth to her daughter Glenna in 1964. Glenn's job transferred him to Florida in 1966 to 1969.
They returned to settle in Garland, TX where she raised her children. She worked for Camp Fire Girls for 5 years. She was employed at KC Aviation from 1976-1998, she retired when KC was bought out by Gulf Stream. She went on to work another 10 years for Garland ISO and fully retired in 2007. She loved to travel, listen to music, and play games with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson Scott Campbell.
She is survived by her brother, Gerald Sumners and wife Betty of Texas City, TX, sons; Darryl and wife Malissa Campbell of Rockwall, Tx and Danny and wife Sheila Campbell of Rowlett, TX; daughter, Glenna and husband Steve Berry of Tool, TX; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
