James Roy Tallant, 75, of Wills Point went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 23, 2020. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday February 26, 2020 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, Texas with visitation held one hour prior to service. Corry Williams will be officiating. Burial will be at Princeton Cemetery at 2:30 P.M.
James was born on April 16, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Orville and Edna Tallant. He was raised in and attended school in Princeton, Texas. He was a Police Chief in Princeton, Gunsmith, and a Baptist Minister. He was a long-time member of Meadow Brook Missionary Baptist Church and a member of The Masonic Lodge in Princeton. James loved the CB Radio, fishing and most of all his family. After moving to Lake Tawakoni, he started antiquing at Canton Trade Days. On February 19, 1993 he married Cheri Tallant. James is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Edna, wife Deona Kaye Parker Tallant, brother Clint Tallant, great grandson Johnny Colt Hague.
James is loved and will be missed by his wife Cheri Tallant, sons James Randall Tallant and wife Chellia of Blue Ridge, Texas, Timothy Tallant and wife Christie of San Antonio, Texas, Adam Ruthford and wife Robin of Mansfield, Texas, Christopher Ruthford and wife Lori of Wills Point, Texas, Craig Ruthford of Quinlan, daughters Vickie and husband True Ricketts of Frisco, Texas, Audra and husband Ed King of Aubrey , Texas, Amy and husband John Rhine of Arlington, Texas, sisters Aletta Baxter of McKinney, June Taylor of Princeton, and Bernell Tallant of Princeton, twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren one great great grandchild.
