James Kneberg Sr. Obituary

James Duane Kneberg Sr. age 86, of Emory, went to be with his Lord and Savior on, Thursday, June 10, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00P.M. Thursday at Yah’s Restoration Fellowship Church at 806 RCR 3330 in Emory with burial following in Emory City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until service time at the church.

 

Pallbearers will be James Duane Kneberg Jr., Robert Scott Kneberg, William Jack Kneberg, Janet Sue Kneberg Bettis, Danny Russell Bettis, Jerry Dodd, and Daniel Olsen.

 

James Duane Kneberg was born on February 19, 1935, in South Bend, Indiana. He was the son of the late Leonard Theodore Kneberg of South Bend, Indiana and late Mary Elizabeth Fast Kneberg of Bryan, Ohio. James enlisted into the United States Marine Corp on August 20, 1952, in Indianapolis and loyally served his country before received an honorable discharge on August 20, 1955, in Camp Lejune, North Carolina. He married Miss Ina Darlene Hickey on June 1, 1968, in South Bend, Indiana and they moved to the area in August of 1982. He was a talented welder and salesman. James loved his Lord and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He was an ordained minister and pastored New Covenant Fellowship Church until his retirement in 2011. During his ministry he enjoyed playing the accordion and singing at church and nursing home services. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife on December 1, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Lynn Kneberg and an infant grandson, Bradley Kyle Kneberg.  

 

He is loved and will be missed by his sons, James Duane Kneberg, Jr and wife Kristie Michelle of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Robert Scott Kneberg and wife Veronica Tiffany of Greenfield, Indiana, and William Jack Kneberg of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughter, Janet Sue Bettis and husband Danny Russell of Emory; grandchildren, James Derison Kneberg of Hot Springs, LeAnn Nicole Kneberg, Jaden Danielle Kneberg of San Antonio, Lillian Grace of Greenfield, Indiana, Emily Love of Greenfield, Indiana, John Robert of Greenfield, Indiana, Dein Jae-Gabriel Bettis of Emory and Nohli Dylan Bettis of Emory; brother-in-law, Gary Hickey and wife Marianna on Canton, Georgia, sisters-in-law, Shirley Mayhew of Georgia and Kathy Mercer and husband Dan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; friend and pastor, Daniel Olsen of Emory and friend, Jerry Dodd of Brashear.
