James O'Neil Obituary

James D. O'Neil passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was 86 years old. Jim was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on Aug. 9, 1935, to parents James and Edna (Holliday) O'Neil. Growing up, Jim enjoyed spending the summers on his uncle's farm in southwestern WI where his love of animals began. Jim served in the U.S. Army, and then completed his bachelor's degree in Criminology at UW Milwaukee. Jim was united in marriage to Geraldine (Geri) "Honey" Schilling on June 20, 1959. After residing in Brown Deer and working as a deputy on the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, Jim and Geri moved to a hobby farm in the town of Saukville with their three daughters. Jim then began working at the JC Penney Distribution Center, in Wauwatosa, as a Loss Prevention Manager before relocating to their Corporate Office in Plano, TX as Loss Prevention Coordinator in 1989. Upon retirement, Jim and Geri moved to Holly Lake Ranch in East Texas.

Jim enjoyed playing in numerous baseball and bowling leagues, watching sports, and playing cards. He fostered a love of animals in his daughters and was often found at the County fair with them, where he volunteered his time. Jim was an active member with the Knights of Columbus, ASIS, Parish Council and the Northern Ozaukee School Board. Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Geri; daughters Kathleen (Jeffrey) Conradt of Oostburg, Kelly O'Neil, and Jennifer (Thomas) Monahan of Port Washington; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings John O'Neil and Thomas (Karen) O'Neil; in-laws; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Loretta (Don) Biondich and brother Jerome (Marlene) O'Neil.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at Holy Trinity Parish, 521 Congress St. Newburg, WI 53095 at 12:00 p.m.
