Jackie Cathey

Jack Dale Cathey, age 62, from Quinlan, TX, passed away on August 23, 2024. A celebration of life will be held on September 14 at 2:00 P.M at Butch’s home in Quinlan.

Jack was born on Thursday, November 3, 1961, to parents Fenon Cathey and Jean (Rabjohn) Cathey in Irving, TX. He graduated from Irving High School and soon joined the Navy. After finishing his years of service, he drove a truck for a propane company until retirement. He married Gail Purcell on June 25, 2011.

Growing up he loved to watch his dad race dirt track cars and decided to race track cars himself for 15 years. He has always been a family man and watching his nephews’ wrestling matches have always been a highlight for him. He has been described as an awesome husband, father and grandfather with a stubborn streak.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents Nolia and Stala Rabjohn from Trenton, TX and Bill and Chloe Cathey from Dimmit, TX

He leaves behind his wife Gail Cathey, daughter Christina Armstrong and husband Diamonte; brothers, Butch Cathey from Quinlan, TX and Bill Cathey from Denham Springs, LA; sisters, Ann Medina from Bedford, TX and Donna Storey from Richardson, TX; grandchildren, Kayden, Karter and DJ Armstrong and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will help keep his memory alive.
