Iva Lou (Kitty) Melton Ingram was born on June 8, 1933, in Emory, Texas to the parents of Elmo (Bo) Melton and Fanne Mae (Fuller) Melton.
Iva passed away at her home on October 7, 2025, in Emory, Texas with her family surrounding her.
Iva attended Emory school where she was born and raised. She worked for Lee Optical for many years. While raising her children she attended and graduated from cosmetology school. She worked at Emory Health and Rehab as their hairdresser for 15 years doing the hair and nails of the residents which she loved until she retired at the age of 80.
She is survived by one sister, Helen Gonzales; daughters, Charlotte Wallin, spouse Phil, Linda Gambrill, Sondra Northcutt, Janice Lively, fiancé Henry, Patricia Stafford, Valencia Berg; son, Jimmy Ingram. Also survived by two stepchildren Dixie Cress and Don Ingram; 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and 3 on the way.
Iva (Kitty) will be cremated, and her cremains will be interred at Dunbar Cemetery, Emory, Texas. A private family memorial will be announced at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) Ingram, parents Bo Melton and Fanne Mae (Fuller)Melton, brothers; Bill Melton, Floyd Melton, sisters; Thema Blake, Ida Sanders, Ophelia (Doll) Vaughan; Son-in-laws, David Northcutt, David Lively, David Stafford; daughter in law, Mylee Ingram; grandson Jack Edgar Northcutt.
