Ima Gay (Vance) Wright, 82, of Seven Points went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at her residence. Memorial services celebrating Ima’s life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at VFW #4376 in Seven Points.
Ima was born on February 2, 1937 in Champaign, Illinois. She is the daughter of the late Kelly and Mary Vance. Ima was raised and educated in in Mansfield, Illinois. Ima married Leonard Donald Phelps on May 12, 1954 and they had two children before his passing on June 17, 1958. Ima fell in love a second time and she married James E. Wright on August 6, 1960. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Lady’s Auxiliary #4376 in Seven Points. She was an awesome loving mother, grandmother, great & great-great grandma, sister and friend.
Ima was also preceded in death by her husband James, sisters Margaret Peacher, JoAnne Vance; brother Arkie Vance; son Gary Wright; grandchildren James E. Wright II, Amanda Wright, Steven E. Wright Jr. and Ashley N. Wright Walker.
She is loved and will be missed by her children Renita Phelps Odom (Doug) of Red Oak, Timothy Phelps (Edie) of Hot Springs, AR, Steven E. Wright of Tool, Tammy Jones (Gary) of Carrollton; sisters Naomi Lane of Dearing, GA, Janice Thompson of Trinidad, TX; grandchildren Daryl Crowder (Brandy), Brigitte TeVoert, Zachery TeVoert, Ginny Maynard (Andy), Timothy J. Phelps, Summer Wright, Bogan Wright, Chloe Wright, Britni Smith (Justin), 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 2 great-great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
