Haylei Martinez-Bynum Obituary

Haylei Alyne Martinez - Bynum, age 19, from Greenville, TX, passed away on August 23, 2024. A funeral service will be held at Ingram Funeral Service on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 3:00 in Quinlan, Texas. A visitation will be held the night before at Ingram Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00.

Haylei was born on Thursday, April 14, 2005, in Arlington, TX to parents Michael Martinez and Nicole Miller and was raised in Waxahachie. She graduated from Waxahachie High School in 2022. For 19 years she was a beautiful, bright and shining light in their family and to everyone who knew her. She was a person who grabbed life by the horns and lived every second that she was given. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, working out with her cousin, Eric, and sports; she loved to get into a ring and box anyone brave enough to go against her. She especially loved volleyball and put her heart into it. Her family meant everything to her, and she enjoyed spending time with them. Haylei was the first-born child and became a big sister, a few years later, to her little brother, Andrew, whom she loved very much. Some of her fondest memories included watching the 49ers play with her dad, being the best big sister she could be and cooking or baking with her mom. She loved animals and held a special place in her heart for her baby dog Chucho.

She volunteered at the Quinlan Fire and Rescue and that is where she met the love of her life, Anthony. What started as a friendship turned into a deep love for one another. Anthony and Haylei's whirlwind romance brought two people together not only as friends, but as soulmates who created a perfect baby just five short months ago. Becoming a mom to a beautiful baby girl and embracing motherhood was the best thing Haylei had ever done, and she was so glad that she was able to do it with her best friend.

Haylei is preceded in death by her great grandparents Charles and Elaine Perkins, great grandpa John Miller, great-great grandma Alyne "Granny" Sills, great-great grandma "Guera", and Aunt Misty Thornburg.

She leaves behind her mother Nicole and husband David, dad Mike and wife Haley, fiancé Anthony Bynum and daughter Jocelynn Alyne Bynum of Greenville, TX, siblings Andrew Martinez of Ennis, TX and Layla Martinez of Waxahachie, TX; grandparents, Kathy Rymer (Mamaw) and husband Nick (Papaw) of Memphis Tennessee, John Mark Miller and wife Joyce of Ennis, TX, and Estaban and Juana Martinez of Italy, TX, Great grandma Alyne Miller of Mabank, TX, her Uncle Eddie, Uncle JD, and Uncle Stevie and wife Lisa, Aunt Heather; cousins, Eric, Hannah, Caydence, Harley and several others including other family members and friends that will carry her legacy on.

To know her was to love her. Her beautiful brown eyes and sweet, dimpled smile could turn anyone's day around. 19 years isn't nearly long enough to love someone like her, but our hope and prayer is that your memories of Haylei are held close to your heart and when you witness things like beautiful sunrises, blazing sunsets, calm seas, or a starlit sky, you'll think of her and smile.
