Glenn Campbell Obituary

Glenn Wesley Campbell, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, in Corsicana, Texas. He was born in Daingerfield, Texas, on February 27, 1938, to Greeley Campbell and Myrtie Croley. He graduated from Garland High School and attended SMU, UT Arlington, and North Texas University.

In 1957, he married Jeanette Sumners, with whom he had two sons, Darryl (born 1960) and Danny (born 1963), as well as a daughter, Glenna (born 1964). In 1974, he married Mariolyn Ganaway, and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage. Through this union, he expanded his family to include a stepson, Kelly Ross, and a stepdaughter, Barbara Ross Mathis.

Glenn spent his career as a quality control manager. In 1966, his professional responsibilities provided him with the opportunity to live in various states, including Florida, Arizona, Arkansas, and Louisiana. In 1984, he and Mariolyn returned to Texas, settling in Lindale.

He served as a scout leader for approximately six years during his sons' formative years, a role he held in high regard. Additionally, he had a deep passion for playing chess, bridge, and golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Greeley Campbell and Myrtie Croley; his wife, Mariolyn Campbell; his sisters, Beulah Warner and Neva Raney; his brother, Ron Campbell; and his grandson, Scott Campbell.

He is survived by his sons, Darryl and Malissa Campbell of Rockwall, TX, and Danny and Sheila Campbell of Rowlett, TX; his daughter, Glenna and Steve Berry of Tool, TX; his stepdaughter, Barbara and LaDonna Mathis of Rockwall, TX; his stepson, Kelly and Linda Ross of Arlington, TX; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
