Obituary

Glenda Gilliard, 79, of Quinlan, passed away on April 3, 2023. She was born on July 28, 1943, in McKinney, TX to Bertha Spurgin and John Eastham. 

Glenda was a very kind and loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her early years, she attended school in McKinney, TX where she obtained her GED in 1964. She met her late husband Robert Gilliard and they wed on August 21, 1980. She enjoyed fishing and relaxing outdoors by the pond near her home. Glenda wrote a letter to her family shortly before her passing that she wanted to share:

“I had many grandchildren I loved so dearly, and I thank them all for loving me. Also, lots of great-grandchildren who all made my heart smile. Lots of nieces and nephews, I loved each and every one of you. No one be sad and laugh when it’s funny.” 

Glenda is survived by her sons Jackie Keith Wynn and Kelly Scott Humphries, both of Odessa, TX; Sisters Shirley McAdams and husband Mac; Brothers Billy Eastham and wife Kay, Sammy Eastham; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Gilliard; grandparents Sam and Birtha Eastham, Tom and Liza Spurgin; sister JoAnn Harris; brothers Butch and Paul Ray Eastham.
