Gilbert Lynn Y'Barbo, born May 18, 1951, in Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2026.
Known for his friendly demeanor and quick wit, Gilbert was a devoted father and grandfather who deeply treasured the time he spent with his family. He worked for many years as an exterminator with Pest Rid, where he formed lasting relationships and took great pride in his work. His lively spirit and genuine kindness touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and will be deeply missed.
Gilbert found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved shooting pool with friends and always welcomed a little friendly competition. He never turned down a good game of dominoes, especially when it meant being surrounded by family, friends, and laughter. A true sports fan, he enjoyed watching just about any game-particularly when a friendly wager made things a little more exciting.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his daughter, Tina Lyons; son, Gilbert Y'Barbo Jr.; and his beloved grandchildren, Candice St. Clair (and her spouse, Zach St. Clair), Kara Y'Barbo, and Shy-Ann Reynolds (and her spouse, Tori Reynolds). He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Tammy Y'Barbo; son-in-law, Jimmy Lyons; and his siblings, Linda Diane Y'Barbo, Randy Y'Barbo, Hank Y'Barbo, Eugene Sunday, and Sharon Lasae Sunday. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
The love Gilbert shared will remain in the hearts of his family and friends always. He will be remembered for his caring nature and the warmth and comfort he brought to everyone around him.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Y'Barbo, and his mother, Mittie Louise Johnson.
He will be forever loved, forever missed, and always remembered.
