Garry Arthur Rogers Sr., 65, of Point, Texas passed from this life, Saturday, April 3, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at the Hope of Glory Worship Center, 953 E State Highway 276, Quinlan, TX 75474 at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 10, 2021 officiated by Keith Goodson.
Garry was born October 27, 1955 in Albany, Texas to Peggy Ruth (Hogue) and William Arthur Rogers. He was raised in Mesquite and attended Mesquite schools before going in the oilfield and learning to drill. Garry worked many years as a driller and worked in various things of his interest locally as well. Garry was married over 34 years to Charlotte Rogers. He was daddy to his three children and loved them dearly. In his leisure time, Garry worked with wood, making handles for knives, building tables and staining the wood. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family. Garry and his siblings had a close bond growing up. Garry was the oldest, so he looked out for them and they came to rely on each other throughout their lives. Garry was a friend to all and was always willing to help someone in need.
Garry is survived by his son, Garry Rogers Jr. and wife, Rachael of Wills Point; daughters, Delana Rogers of Hurst and Misty Jo Rogers of Dallas; sister, Suzanne Gonzales and husband, Mario of Mesquite; brothers, Donald Rogers and wife Ginger of East Tawakoni and Bobby Rogers of Lake Fork; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Garry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Rogers and his parents.
