Gail "Nana" Julius

Gail (Nana) Julius, age 72, departed this earth on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. There will be a celebration of Nana’s life at 1:00pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Ingram Funeral Home.

Gail Ann Murphy Juluis was born on Sunday, December 9, 1951, in Salinas, California to Mr. Nathanial Lee Murphy and Patricia Ann Parrish Murphy. She was a small child when her family moved to Channelview, Texas; where she was raised and attended school. She worked for a shipping company for most of her life but also worked for a towing service. Gail had a devoted career as a ‘Nana’ and was fiercely committed to her family. She was working at the Hwy 751 game room in 2010; when she met the love of her life, Steven Ochoa. She enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casinos and vacations at a cabin in Oklahoma.  She was most recently employed at Chaney’s Smoke Shop in Quinlan, where her smile will be dearly missed by coworkers and customers. Whether it was brisket, barbeque, or cigarettes, Nana love to smoke! You could always count on her to have one burning in the BBQ pit and the ashtray. She was not only a smoke master; she was an incredible cook and baker. Her pineapple upside down cake and chocolate pie was always a favorite. During the holidays, you could count on Nana to bring her delicious dishes and not share the recipes. She believed ‘a pinch here, a pinch there’ was enough information to make her culinary delights.

She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of 15 years, Steve Ochoa; sons, William Paden, Clifford Winfrey, and Rudy Cortez; daughters, Natisha Longoria, Felicia Anderson, and Sandra Winfrey; brothers, Daniel Murphy, Jack Murphy, Gary Murphy, Billy Murphy, and Floyd Murphy; sisters, Janis Hudson and Sandra Ballew.13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her K9 kids, Baby Girl and Tia Faye and the numerous friends that she was ‘NaNa’ too.
