Frank Abernathy passed away peacefully at the age 83 on December 18, 2020, at Pittsburg Nursing Home in Pittsburg, Texas, surrounded by caring and loving support staff.
Frank was born on July 22, 1937, to Lucille Williamson and Rufus Henry Abernathy in Alabama and lived there until the age of 16. He then moved to Dangerfield, Texas where he graduated from high school. After graduation, he joined the Reserves, and later enlisted in the Navy, serving four years. After his enlistment in the Navy, he served two more years in the Reserves.
He worked as a cook, and later became a civil service employee and purchaser for the federal government. Frank earned a college degree in Business and Management. While he was attending college, he met his former wife, Peggy Lenore Wooten. They were married for 15 years. Out of that union they had three children, Keith Allen, Kevin Scott and Donna Abernathy.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Frank is survived by his sons, Keith and Kevin, and his sister, Linda. He has three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
