Frank Johnson Obituary

Frank Bennett Johnson, age 87, of Emory went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at his home. Frank was born on September 9, 1936 in West, Texas to Johnny and Clara Johnson. He moved to Dallas in the 7th grade. As soon as he was able, he enlisted into the United States Army where he honorably served his country. He met the love of his life, Ella Beth Fleming, in 1957 and they married on June 13, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. They lived in the Allen area from the 1960s until Frank and Ella Beth retired and moved to Emory.

Frank was an exceptional commercial and residential painter by trade. He was a First Deacon at First Baptist Church Allen for many years and served as a counselor there for the Royal Ambassadors (RA) for 14 years. He was also a Deacon at Allen Heights and Emory Baptist Church. Frank loved to piddle, doing yard work, mowing, and working on the vegetable garden.

He adored his grandchildren and left them wonderful memories of riding the tractor and fishing in the pond. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and hosted the Johnson Family Reunion for many years. Frank was a good man and believed in hard work. He was a wonderful provider to his family. He perfectly embodied the scripture, “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.”

He was preceded in death by his sisters, ElWanda (Neg) McAlpin and Joyce LaDean (Dean) Russell, and his brothers, Doyle Johnson, Turner (TC) Johnson, William (Willie) Johnson, and Charles (Chuck) Johnson.

He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his devoted wife of 64 years, Ella Beth Johnson of Emory; son, Randy Johnson of Allen; daughter, Charlotte Horn and husband Gayle of Gladewater; sister, Janelle (Nell) Cantrell and husband Veldon of Celina; grandchildren, Tiffany Morgan and husband Nick of Princeton, Audrey Johnson of McKinney, Daniel Potter and wife Amanda of Wylie, Caleb Johnson and wife Brittnee of Caddo Mills, and Jonathan Pollard of Italy; great grandchildren, Trevor Koonce, Reagan Koonce, Mason Stokley, Carver Morgan, Grady Morgan, Caroline Morgan, Sara Potter, Paige Potter, Benjamin Potter, Owen Potter, Cole Potter, Harlynn Johnson, Hazel Johnson, and Bennett Johnson, all of Texas.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
